AUGUST AT THE FRAMSDEN GREYHOUND

Saturday August 3rd

What a night to remember! We had the venue, craft beer from Green Jack, music from Ian & Conrad , sunshine and of course our lovely guests you.
We chatted, some danced and sang and a merry time was had by all - the atmosphere was fantastic- thank you all.
There are several pictures above and in the gallery . Huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, in particular Maria for her stirling work behind the bar.

We have planned another one, whilst we have the summer, the date for your diaries is  Bank Holiday Monday 26th August slightly earlier time of 5-8pm as it will be outside again come rain or shine with a cash bar. More details will follow on our Facebook page.

Hope to see you there and don't forget to invest in us as we still need to reach our target to refurbish the pub completely in the hope of being open for Christmas 2024 full details are under the share application tab, although if you have any queries please do email us: info@framsdengreyhound.co.uk.

July 2024 at The Framsden Greyhound

1. Buy a share in our Pub! The community share window was launched at a meeting at the Village Hall on 20th June. The offer is now open and it is your chance to buy shares to help fund the cost of equipping and refurbishing the pub. If you want a copy of the prospectus and presentation please email: info@framsdengreyhound.co.uk.

2. The Pub: This is a month of surveys and investigations. We are awaiting a Bat survey, which has been arranged for the end of the month. Our asbestos survey tells us there is no asbestos in the building. The Heritage Architect and Structural Engineer are completing their surveys and drawings.

3.Building work continues: The broken window glass has now been replaced and the
upstairs dormers are in the process of being repaired. The facias on gable ends have been repaired. The builders have started work on the barn walls and roof to make them weatherproof and secure so we can start to use them. Elsewhere the drying out continues and we are nearing the point when we can start replastering.

4. The Toilets: are having new sanitary wear and the broken tiles are being replaced - we found lots of matching ones in the barn.

5. Furniture and Equipment: We have been offered two catering gas ranges from the
brother of a local resident which we are hoping to collect later this month. The pub kitchen is being designed by Anglian Catering and we are consulting with a bar design expert on the equipping of the bar and cellar. The Shed at Debenham have given us four restored tall bar stools - thank you. We still have five small stools for repainting and upholstering, do let us know if you can or would like to help. Paint them any colour and any design, your choice. Send us an email and we’ll deliver locally. Email. info@framsdengreyhound.co.uk

6. Pop Up Pub!: Our first pop up event will be on Saturday 3rd August from 6-9pm. This will be an outdoor event at the pub, with local beers, wines, soft drinks and live music. Do come along, enjoy some pleasant company and join in our first event. We are hoping to have wi-fi for cards but just in case please bring cash!

June 2024 at The Framsden Greyhound

1. We are now officially The Framsden Greyhound. We have a logo, a website www.framsdengreyhound.co.uk and a Facebook page. Here you will be able to see pictures of all that’s been happening. We held our first pop-up pub at the D day commemorations in the village hall.

2. We’ve had two more fantastic volunteering days and the pub looks more loved.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed. Now the pub is clear and dry, the grounds are clear and ready for next steps, hanging baskets adorn the front, a blackboard tells you what’s on and the window boxes are full of pansies. UK Power Network planning team, spent a day with us on 12th June as part of their giving back to the community project. They stripped the Crittall windows, cleaned the pub and cleared and tidied the outbuildings. We were really grateful for their hard work and fascination with our project. The pub kitchen is being designed and the drying out continues.

3. Whilst clearing the garages we found eight small stools. They are all sound and in fairly good condition.

Would you like to take a stool and repaint and upholster it for reusing in the pub? Paint it any colour and any design, your choice. Send us an email and we’ll deliver (locally). Email: info@framsdengreyhound.co.uk.

4. Looking forward: This month we will be appointing a Heritage Architect to help us with our design and renovations and co-ordination with the Heritage Team at Mid-Suffolk Council. We will be progressing window repairs and exploring options for builders and craftspeople to deal with rewiring, timber repairs and floors.

5. And Finally we are publishing our Share prospectus: unfortunately we have experienced some delays but we will now launch the prospectus on 27th June at an open meeting in the Village Hall, Starting at 7.00pm. All welcome. Come along and discuss the details of our project, see what buying shares entails and ask questions about our share offer and our plans. Hard copies of the prospectus will be available at the meeting.
