Other news
The Building: Its warm and ready for our opening from 20th December. We have an operational cellar now and the final touches are taking place ready to welcome customers.
Unfortunately we cant install our wood burner until we have approval from the heritage building officer. This, along with installing the kitchen etc. will take place in the new year. Further work is planned for next year including work to the stream, finishing the decoration upstairs, completing the car parks and creating outdoor seating and gardens.
Pub Manager: We have appointed a manager, Maria Swanscott, who will working part time in December and January. Maria Swanscott comes with a wealth of experience and a real commitment to our community ideals and to our village.
Pop Up Pub!: We held another two successful pop-up events - this time inside the pub! They were lovely enjoyable evenings with standing room only and people of all ages stretching from 19 months to 80 years old. There are lots of photos on the website.
Community Information evening: An open community meeting was held last week where we discussed progress to date and our future plans. We can send you a copy of the slides if you would like them. One question we asked was what should the Society concentrate on over the coming months? We would like shareholder views on the following:
What activities would you like to see?
How should we develop the Barn?
What would you like to see in the gardens?
If you have views on any of these questions – or indeed other issues such as how we should develop the pub - we would love to hear from you. Please email framsdencommunitypub58@gmail.com and we will respond.
Licensing: We have applied for our premises licence. The consultation period ends 23rd December. The licence details can be found at www.midsuffolk.gov.uk.
Buy a share in your Pub: We still need your help, we need a further £35,000 to reach our target so we hope people will be able to dig deep! If you are still to buy shares or if you can add to your investment please do so now. Join with us and support our community project.
Also shares and merchandise make great Christmas presents! Full details and colours are the website (T-shirts £16, and polo shirts £21)

New Chairperson: After four busy years Brian Cox is standing down and the Board has elected Julia Green as the new chair. Brian will continue as board member.
… and finally:
The Board would like to say a heartfelt thank you for the tremendous work, encouragement and contributions everyone has made. It seems incredible to think it was only in April that we bought the pub and what a sorry state it was in. After all the work, we are ready to open, bring our lovely pub back to life and start to do all the things that we planned for our community. We can look forward to a busy, happy and positive year ahead.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
